On the eve of Navratri, Jammu and Kashmir Governor S K Sinha on Thursday introduced at Katra new facilities for Vaishnodevi pilgrims.

Yatris can now register online through a credit card, the user name and password for which can be attained by registering on the shrine's Web site.

"The online registration system will enable increased pilgrim inflow and provide easy access to devotees," the governor said.

The Vaishnodevi Shrine Board has also introduced the facility of despatching prasad by speed-post to devotees who have booked pooja for an amount of Rs 1,100 and above and are not in a position to personally receive it.

The board will accept requests through its Web site, www.maavaishnodevi.org.

The governor also released a stamp on Mata Vaishnodevi along with a greeting card.
