Is it illegal to wave black flags at CM? October 06, 2004 00:14 IST Seven girl students belonging to the Students Federation of India, which owes allegiance to the Communist Party of India-Marxist, were taken into custody on Tuesday after they waved black flags against Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in protest against the government policy on self-financing professional institutions. The incident occurred when the chief minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a new building for a women's college in Thiruvananthapuram, police said. The protestors, who were sitting among the audience, stood up and raised slogans and waved black flags when Chandy turned up for the function.More reports from Kerala
