Pappu Yadav surrenders, sent to Beur jail

The Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate for the Madhepura Lok Sabha by-poll, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, was on Tuesday sent to the high-security Beur jail after he surrendered before a designated CBI judge in Patna.

Yadav was asked to surrender by the Supreme Court in connection with murder of Communist Party of India-Marxist MLA Ajit Sarkar's murder.

Speaking to reporters before his surrender, Yadav expressed unflinching faith in the judiciary. He also expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious in the October 13 by-poll.
