Huge cache of RDX recovered in Anantnag

In a major haul, the army on Thursday recovered 348 kg of RDX from Goas forest in Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir, a defence spokesman said in Srinagar.

Acting on specific information, the jawans raided the forest near Ashmuqam, 70 km from Srinagar, and recovered the explosives, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, police seized over 16 kg of gunpowder and arrested four persons in this connection from Baramulla district last evening.

The policemen intercepted a vehicle at Chainkipora-Sopore, 70 km from Srinagar, and recovered 16.2 kg of the explosive.

The vehicle's owner, driver, helper and another person were arrested, police sources said.
