Seer's remand: HC verdict on Monday November 20, 2004 17:16 IST Last Updated: November 20, 2004 17:35 IST The Madras high court will pronounce on Monday its verdict on a petition challenging the remand of Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi to three days' police custody. Justice A K Rajan reserved his orders on Saturday on the petition filed by the seer, after hearing arguments of pontiff's counsel I Subramaniam and senior advocate K T S Tulsi, who appeared on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Police. The remand was ordered by the Kanchipuram judicial magistrate on Friday. In a separate ruling, the Madras HC also dismissed the bail application filed by the Kanchi seer. Giving his order on the bail application on Saturday evening, Justice R Balasubramaniam said, "I am dismissing the bail application at this stage."
