Anand Mohan Sahay in Patna | November 19, 2004 12:50 IST

A Bihar police constable, Dinanath Tiwary, was on Friday arrested in Begusarai district for killing three persons.

The three were killed when Tiwari fired upon a group of villagers in a fit of drunken rage on Thursday night.

Though the cop was held, there was tension in the town as people started protesting against the killing.

They set fire to a police station and torched police vehicles.
