Congregation for world peace on Tawi banks

Over 9,000 people, including a large number of saints and spiritual leaders, will gather to pray for world peace at a mahayagya on the banks of the Tawi river in Jammu from November 4  to 14.

Saints from Ayodhya, Kashi, Vrindavan, Haridwar, Varanasi, Ujjain and other parts of the country will take part in the yagya, for which 1,096 kunds have been set up, Sant Shri Balak Yogeshwar Dass Maharaj and Justice (Retd) K K Gupta, the organisers of the event, told reporters in Jammu on Monday.

"The aim behind organising this grand yagya is to pray for world peace, brotherhood and restoration of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir,"' Yogeshwar said. The main pooja for the yagya will be performed on November 4 and, the next day, a kalash yatra will be taken out from Ranbireshwar temple, which will culminate at the yagya site, Gupta said.
