Marwah sworn in as Bihar governor

Jharkhand Governor Ved Marwah on Monday assumed charge as the governor of Bihar. He was given the additional charge of Bihar following the resignation of M Rama Jois on Thursday last amid reports that he was being removed.

He was administered the oath at a simple ceremony by the acting chief justice of the Patna high court, Nagendra Rai, in Patna. Conspicuous by their absence were Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Leader of the Opposition Upendra Prasad Kushwaha.

The state government was represented by Bihar ministers Shakuni Choudhry, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Awadh Bihari Choudhry, Rama Devi and Shyam Rajak.
