Two RPF men arrested on rape charges

May 29, 2004 11:23 IST

The Delhi police have arrested two personnel of the Railway Protection Force after a woman alleged that four men of the force gangraped her on Thursday.

Jahan Singh and Karamveer were arrested on Friday after the 35-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the Sarai Rohilla police station in north Delhi, police sources said.

Two more accused -- Harshveer and Tejpal -- are absconding, they said.

The woman, who lives with her husband and three sons in a rented house in the area, had been asked by her landlord to vacate the house. She went looking for another accommodation to the RPF quarters. The victim met the four accused there and was taken to an apartment and raped.

All four accused have been suspended from the force.
