RJD wins in Sivan and Bettiah

The Rashtriya Janata Dal has won the Bettiah and Sivan Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. Repolling in 622 booths in the two constituencies was held on Monday.

RJD leader Raghunath Jha defeated his nearest rival, Bharatiya Janata Party's Madan Prasad Jaiswal, by over 24,000 votes in Bettiah.

In Sivan, Mohammed Shahabuddin defeated Om Prakash Yadav of the Janata Dal (United) by over 1.03 lakh votes.
 
The RJD has now won 19 seats in Bihar and two in Jharkhand.
