A businessman has been arrested on charges of raping a Fijian girl in Delhi on the Holi eve, the police said on Monday.

Abhinav Kochchar, 28, who runs a travel agency, has been accused of sexually assaulting the 19-year-old girl after offering her a lift from a five-star hotel in south-west Delhi on Saturday night.

The victim, a student, had gone to a restaurant at the hotel along with some friends. When her friends realised that she had a drink too many, they asked her to return home.

Kochhar offered to drop her as she was leaving the hotel.

En route, she apparently lost consciousness and the accused raped her in his car near Deer Park, the police said.

Kochhar was arrested after the victim narrated the incident and identified the accused.
