Special trains likely for Indo-Pak series

March 05, 2004 20:45 IST

The Indian Railways has proposed running some special trains to Pakistan to benefit cricket fans who want to see the forthcoming Indo-Pak cricket series there, railway sources said on Friday.

"Some special trains on the lines of the Samjhauta Express may be run for the cricket series," the sources told PTI.

The proposal has been sent to Pakistan Railways and a decision on running the extra trains was likely to be taken by tomorrow, they said.

At present, the Samjhauta Express runs twice a week between India and Pakistan but a deluge of demand is expected as cricket fans line up to go and see the first Indo-Pak series in 14 years.
