Army chief to undertake 15-day visit to US

Military-to-military ties between New Delhi and Washington are expected to receive a boost with a 15-day visit by Army Chief General N C Vij to the United States beginning Wednesday next.

With this, Vij will become the first ever Indian army chief to hold parleys with the top commanders of the US Central Command and also visit the US Special Operations Forces Command Centre at Tampa.

Vij is scheduled to hold meetings with the Vice Chief of General Staff General Peter Race, Chief of Staff, US Army, General Peter Schumacher, Under Secretary for Defence Douglas Fay and Secretary for Army Brown Lee.
