Sanjay DuttIs Sanjay Dutt, son of Union Sports Minister Sunil Dutt, entering politics?

The answer is 'NO'.

But the rumours are just refusing to die. A report put out by a news agency has been picked up by several reputed websites and Mumbai is agog with talk that 'Munnabhai' is going to be one of the Congress candidates for the legislative council elections in Maharashtra.

Sanjay Dutt is indeed the Congress candidate, but not the famous actor. This Sanjay Dutt is a career politician and a general secretary of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee to boot.

Actor Sanjay Dutt, shooting for Shabd in Goa, said: "Me and that too MLC? This is not possible."

When told about the report circulating in the media, he said: "Let me make one thing clear. I have no intention of joining politics. And I remain committed to that stance."

MPCC spokesman Ajit Samantsaid he had become miserable fielding the same questions from journalists."Actually, he is one of our Youth Congress leaders who just shares his name with the actor," Samant said. "I don't know how this news started circulating that actor Sanjay Dutt is a Congress candidate for the legislative council election. I am tired of clarifying this news to everyone."
