NTR's son shoots film producers

Two Telugu film producers were on Thursday night hospitalised in critical condition after they were allegedly shot at by Nandamuri Balakrishna, actor-son of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister late N T Rama Rao late.

Balakrishna himself was admitted in a corporate hospital after he complained of chest pain.

According to the police, the bizarre incident occurred around 9:30pm. Satyanarayana Chowdary and Bellamkonda Suresh had called on Balakrishna at his Jubilee Hills residence to discuss certain matters. Following an altercation, Balakrishna allegedly took out his personal weapon and opened fire on them.

Both the producers were rushed to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills and are in a coma. Chowdary's kidney and spleen are damaged while Suresh sustained critical injuries to the liver.

Both of them were operated upon but doctors refused to brief mediapersons on their condition.

Police rushed to Balakrishna's house soon after the incident and picked up two household employees for interrogation.

Some policemen headed for Apollo Hospital and others for Care Hospital, where Balakrishna was admitted after complaining of chest pain, to gather more information about the incident.

Though no one has come forward to lodge a complaint, the police have registered begun investigation after registering a case suo motu.

Family members and members of the film industry have rushed to the two hospitals.
