Sikh riots panel gets three months more

The term of the Justice Nanavati Commission, set up to inquire into the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi and other parts of the country, has been extended by three months.

The decision was taken on Monday at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, an official spokesperson said.

The commission's term, which was to expire on August 2 , 2004 has now been extended upto November 2, 2004.
