Militants target hospital in J&K, 1 killed Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar | July 26, 2004 12:46 IST One person was killed and 33 others, including two paramilitary personnel, were wounded when militants on Monday morning hurled a hand grenade at the sub-district hospital in Baramulla, 55km from Srinagar. Abdul Rahim Sofi (50) died on the spot when the grenade exploded near the out patient department (OPD) inside the crowded hospital complex, a senior police officer said. The target apparently was a party of paramilitary Border security force personnel who had come for treatment. Doctors referred four critically injured persons to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
