Preliminary probe has revealed that at least three persons were involved in the incident that occurred on Wednesday night. Though the cupboard was found ransacked, the extent of the loss is yet to be determined, as valuables worn by the victims were not stolen.

The assailants had entered the house through the roof and had used a phone cable to strangulate the couple before stabbing them to death.

Parikh was an honorary chairman of the Ahmedabad Peoples' Cooperative Bank and is survived by a daughter Vaishali and his son-in-law.
