Bihar flood toll rises to 59

The toll in the floods in Bihar rose to 59 on Wednesday with 19 more deaths being reported from Supaul, Seohar, Motihari and Darbhanga.

The flood waters also entered fresh in many north Bihar districts. Sources said eight people were drowned in Motihari district and another 11 died in Muzaffarpur. Four persons died in Darbhanga.

Meanwhile, a central team will visit the flood affected areas of Bihar. Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jai Narayan Yadav said the team will assess the losses suffered by the people.

Yadav said the Centre would give all necessary help to Bihar to cope with floods.
