Dancers attempt to break world record

Thirty couples are attempting to break a world dance record by shaking their legs for 55 hours in Delhi.

The party, which began on Friday, saw a large number of enthusiasts flocking to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Braving sweltering heat, they kept the dance floor alive in an attempt to break the Guinness record of a party that lasted for 52 hours and three minutes in Cleveland, US.

According to the rules of the event, at least 75% of the dancers will have to dance till the finish. They are allowed to rest for 10 minutes every two hours.

Ten disc jockeys are belting out hit music to keep the dancers in the groove.
