The Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, an autonomous institution under the ministry of information and broadcasting, government of India, invites applications for admission to three-year, full-time residential PG diploma courses for the session starting February 2005 as per the following details:

Courses on offer

Three-year post-graduation diploma courses in
Direction and screenplay writing
Motion picture photography
Editing
Sound recording

Age limit: 30 years as on September 1

Total seats
40 (10 per course)
Foreign students quota: 2 seats per course
SC/ST reservation as per extant norms

Eligibility qualification
For courses in direction and screenplay writing, motion picture photography and editing: Graduate or equivalent from a recognised university / institution.

For sound recording course: Graduate (as per the specifications above), with Physics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary level.

Admission test
Phase I:  Written examination to be held at different centres

Phase-II: Interactive orientation test and viva voce will be held for shortlisted candidates at SRFTI

Prospectus and application form
Prospectus are available by post against a crossed demand draft or pay order of Rs 300 (Rs 150 for SC/ST candidates against valid certificate proof) drawn in favour of 'Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata,' payable at Kolkata. The last date for the receipt of a request for the prospectus by post is July 15.

The prospectus will be on sale at the institute between 11 am to 4 pm on working days, July 16 to July 28, against a payment of Rs 300 (Rs 150 for SC/ST candidates) in cash/ demand draft / pay order.
