Admission notice for PhD programmes, 2004-2005

Applications are invited for admission to PhD programmes under the faculty of technology, University of Delhi, for the session 2004-05.

PhD programmes are offered in the following academic departments:
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Production Engineering
Computer Engineering
Information Technology
Polymer Technology
Applied Chemistry
Applied Mathematics
Applied Physics

Nine scholarships/seats are available for the academic session 2004-05. Scholarships are admissible as per government of India rules.

Minimum eligibility conditions
For engineering disciplines: Master of engineering/ Master of technology in the appropriate branch from a recognised university/ institution.

For applied science: Master of science in the appropriate branch from a recognised university/ institution.

Shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview. No TA/DA is given for the interview.

In addition to the number of scholarships/seats mentioned above, NET qualified candidates having UGS/CSIR scholarships will be considered for admission to full time PhD programmes.

The prospectus and application form can be obtained in person on submission of a pay order or crossed demand draft of Rs 500 drawn in favour of the 'Principal, Delhi College of Engineering, payable at Delhi', from the reception counter, Administrative Block, Bawana Road, Delhi -- 110 042 from Monday to Friday, 10.30 am to 4 pm.

The request by post for the forms, accompanied by a crossed demand draft of Rs 600 (inclusive of postal charges) drawn in favour of the 'Principal, Delhi College of Engineering, payable at Delhi,' must reach the college latest by July 12. The request must include the applicant's name, address, course for which admission is sought and three self-addressed slips of size 10 cm x 5 cm.

The last date for the receipt of the completed application form is July 30.
