Pencils to Pixels 2004

The Academy Of Digital Arts and Communications has organised a competition, Pencils to Pixels 2004, with several scholarships to encourage budding talent in animated films.

Those who would like to compete in this contest should be able to visually communicate stories, concepts and ideas. Participants can send in their entries with a brief written assignment or a storyboard indicating the category, medium or format of the work and its dimensions. They should include their contact details.

The deadline for submitting the applications is Saturday, January 24, 2004.

ADAC will invite eligible entrants to film their stories. The Academy will provide technical assistance to the students for shooting and editing.

ADAC has instituted a Grand Prize: a scholarship worth Rs 116,000 for a diploma course at the academy. The other prizes in the form of scholarships for courses in animation and digital arts are: Most Promising Student Scholarship worth Rs 87,000; Graduate Scholarship for students pursuing animation careers worth Rs 58,000; Entrance Scholarships for under graduates worth Rs 40,600; Special Category for commercial/fine artists/second animators worth Rs 65,000.
