Blood samples match in Ahmedabad rape case

February 03, 2004 17:00 IST

Blood samples of the prime accused in the New Year eve gang-rape case, Sajal Jain, match with those taken from the victim's body, a Forensic Science Laboratory official said in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Police and FSL are now awaiting the DNA test reports of the four accused arrested in the case, he said.

The FSL did conduct detailed tests on the fluid samples taken from the rape victim and also on samples of blood and semen derived from the four accused, the official added.

The police are heavily dependent on the 51-odd evidences gathered from the Ashok Palace Hotel -- where the alleged rape occurred -- and from Jain's car.

They are looking for three more persons, including two from Ajmer, who were allegedly involved in the gang-rape.
