Madan Lal Khurana returns to active politics December 09, 2004 15:16 IST The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday appointed former Rajasthan governor Madan Lal Khurana as its zonal in-charge for Delhi, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. The appointment marks Khurana's re-entry into active politics in the capital, for which he gave up the governor's job. BJP general secretary Shivraj Singh Chauhan is the party in-charge for Delhi. Khurana, a former Union minister and Delhi chief minister, was made a member of the party's national executive after he resigned as governor. Earlier, he had quit as president of the Delhi's BJP unit after the party's debacle in the assembly elections. He had resigned from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government protesting against attacks on Christian institutions, a move which had antagonised the Sangh Parivar.
