Shankaracharya to move Supreme Court

The Shankaracharya of Kanchi Mutt, Swami Jayendra Saraswati, is likely to move the Supreme Court for bail on Friday.

The Madras High Court rejected the Shankaracharya's bail petition on Wednesday.

The pontiff is charged with involvement in the murder of a mutt official, K Sankararaman, in September.

The defendent's advocate, M N Krishnamani, will fly to New Delhi with the HC order tonight, sources said.
