Two Bharatiya Janata Party members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly were injured in a scuffle with policemen near the legislature complex in Patna.

BJP MLAs, led by their legislative party leader Ashvini Kumar Chaubey, tried to force their way into the complex on bullock carts to protest against the soaring prices and the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

However, security personnel halted the convoy. A heated exchange ensued between the legislators and the securitymen, which ended up in a scuffle, in which Chaubey and Dilip Verma suffered minor injuries.

Senior district officials, including Senior Superintendent of Police N H Khan, persuaded the MLAs to drop the agitation. The officials, however, allowed them to march in a procession to the assembly. The legislators then sat on a dharna chanting anti-government slogans.
