3 MP ministers corrupt: Uma Bharti's brother

August 20, 2004 14:38 IST

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti's elder brother and ousted chairman of the state Civil Supplies Corporation, Swami Prasad Lodhi, who was suspended from the Bharatiya Janata Party two days ago, on Friday claimed that he had evidence of corruption against three state ministers.

"I am undeterred by my suspension from the BJP and will continue the indefinite strike till the ministers -- Kailash Vijayvargiya, Kailash Chawla and Gaurishankar Shejwar -- are removed," he said in Bhopal.

Lodhi, who was not allowed to hold the protest in front of the state BJP headquarters as per his declaration, was suspended from the party on August 18 for his threat of protest and objectionable statements made after being removed as CSC chairman on August 13.

He was also asked to withdraw his threat and tender an explanation about his actions within 10 days.

Stating that the protest would be intensified into a hunger strike, Lodhi accused Vijayvargiya of gobbling up crores of rupees during Simhastha 2004 and Shejwar and Chawla of corruption in transfers.

"Mine is a fight against corruption and it's not personal," he said.
