Mayawati promises Ambedkar Vidarbha Rajya August 19, 2004 17:12 IST Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Thursday said the party, if voted to power in Maharashtra, will create a separate state of Vidarbha and name it after Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The BSP had performed well in Vidarbha in the recent Lok Sabha election. About forging an alliance with the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party, Mayawati said: "We have not made up our mind so far...but as of now, we want to go it alone in the polls."
