Modi govt showing true colours: SC
August 09, 2004 11:29 IST
The Supreme Court on Monday took exception to the delay in appointment of a public prosecutor in the Best Bakery case trial.
"You are showing true colours right from the day one," the bench said. "What sort of public prosecutor is he who opposes arrest warrants against accused who do not appear before the court."
The bench asked the director general of the Gujarat police to file within a week steps taken to produce the accused before the trial court.
It also asked the government to consider the suggestions by the victims regarding appointment of public prosecutor.
The court adjourned the matter till August 16.
