Tohra's cremation on Friday Onkar Singh in New Delhi | April 01, 2004 08:38 IST Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra's cremation will take place at his ancestral village in Patiala, Punjab, at 1100 IST on Friday.
He died at New Delhi's Escorts Hospital at 0041 IST, Thursday. The body will be kept at his residence in Tohra village so that people can pay their last respects, SGPC secretary Manjit Singh Calcutta told rediff.com "The body will be taken to his village by road from Delhi. Parkash Singh Badal, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal and Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will receive the body at Shambu village on the Punjab/Haryana border and then accompany it to his village," he said.
