Union minister wants research into faith healing September 24, 2003 23:10 IST Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Sanjay Paswan is keen that his ministry open two centres in Patna and Darbhanga for effective, modern and scientific research in faith healing skills. On Monday, Paswan had walked barefoot on a 15-feet stretch of smouldering coal and brandished swords with scores of exorcists in Patna as part of a faith healing ritual. "I just want to integrate the old skills of faith healing with modern techniques of treatment. Even the World Health Organisation acknowledges faith healing as a potent tool for healing the body and the mind in the present atmosphere where man is smothered by yearning for physical acquisitions," he had said.
