Sinha to meet Iraqi council minister

External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha, who is accompanying Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will have his first-ever dialogue with the foreign minister of the newly set-up Iraqi Governing Council during the course of his weeklong visit to New York.

Sinha, who has a hectic schedule along the sidelines of the annual United Nations General Assembly session, will also meet the Foreign Minister of the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council comprising Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.

He is also likely to meet his counterparts from key countries like Russia, China and Israel to discuss regional and international issues, sources said on Sunday.
