Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Moropant Pingle, 85, died on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

He breathed his last at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.

Pingle, who hailed from Nagpur, had worked closely with RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

He was also involved in the Ram Temple movement and was a link between the old and new generation of RSS.

RSS chief K S Sudershan condoled Pingle's demise.

"Pingle was one of the pillars of RSS and had tirelessly worked for the organisation," he said.
