Katiyar hails court's verdict
September 19, 2003 17:59 IST
President of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Uttar Pradesh unit, Vinay Katiyar, on Friday welcomed the Rae Bareilli court's decision to frame charges against him in the Babri Masjid demolition case, saying he felt honoured that his contribution to the construction of Ram Temple had been recognised.
"We are firm in our belief that Ram Temple should be constructed at Ayodhya, and for that we are ready to make any sacrifice," he said in Lucknow.
Katiyar, a member of Parliament from Faizabad, said a temple would be constructed at the Ram Janmabhoomi. "If a temple cannot be built in Ayodhya, where Lord Ram was born, where will it be built... in Mecca or in Madina?"
He said his counsel would fight the case in the court while BJP workers would help in creating an atmosphere in favour of temple construction.
