TDP legislator held in stamp paper scam

The Maharashtra police on Saturday arrested former minister and ruling Telugu Desam Party legislator C Krishna Yadav in Hyderabad in connection with the multi-crore, inter-state stamp paper racket.

Yadav was booked under section 34 of the Indian Penal Code read with section 63 (AB) of the Bombay Stamps Act and sections 34& 24 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.

The special team, headed by an officer of the rank of superintendent of police (Intelligence), intimated the Humayun Nagar police station in Hyderabad that it took the MLA into custody in pursuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a special judge of a Maharashtra Crime Control court

After his arrest, the legislator was taken to Pune. He will be produced before a holiday MCOCA court on Sunday, police sources said.
