One jawan has died in the ongoing gun battle between seven Laskhar-e-Tayiba terrorists and security forces in Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on Wednesday.

Four policemen, a village defence council member and two terrorists have been injured, the sources said in Jammu.

The encounter broke out on Tuesday after police cordoned off the ghat area after getting information about the presence of the terrorists, the sources said.

Later, the army launched a full-fledged operation to get them out, they said.
