In keeping with his government's commitment to bring peace and development to Nagaland, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on October 27 began a three-day visit to the insurgency-hit state.

During the visit the PM announced a slew of development schemes. Among them was the launch of mobile phone service in the state. On Monday, Vajpayee inaugurated the service by making the first call in Kohima.
