The fire broke out in the afternoon at the factory's chemical storage facility, Chief Fire Officer Shivajirao Zanzan told PTI in Aurangabad.

The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained, he said adding it is likely to be brought under control by early Thursday morning.

Five fire tenders and eight water tankers had been pressed into service to douse the flames.
