The Delhi high court has postponed hearing of Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi's plea for anticipatory bail till Tuesday after the Punjab government's counsel complained of discrepancies in the copy of the FIR presented before the court.

Additional Advocate General Atul Nanda complained that the English version of the FIR filed against the singer, which was being read out to Justice S K Agarwal, did not contain the allegations against the singer.

The court then ordered the Punjab police to submit a translation of the original FIR, which is in Punjabi, in the Devnagri script.

Bakhshish Singh's complaint of cheating against Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Mehndi led to the case of human trafficking against the singer.

His advocate, Gurpreet Singh, said Daler had deliberately got certain portions omitted from the original FIR and sought to put the blame for the human trafficking on his Shamsher. "In his complaint, Bakhshish Singh has categorically stated that he gave Rs 100,000 to Daler. The translated version says the money was handed over to Shamsher after he spoke to Daler on phone," he said.
