Rape shocking and shameful, says Advani

Terming the rape of a Swiss diplomat in Delhi as 'shocking and shameful', Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani on directed the authorities to bring the guilty to book and take steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Advani spoke to Delhi Lt Governor Vijai Kapoor and Police Commissioner R S Gupta and told them the culprits should be brought to book at the earliest, sources in the deputy prime minister's office said.

Advani said the culprits should not go unpunished and steps should be taken so that such incidents did not recur in future, the sources added.
