Shinde meets governor

November 17, 2003 18:12 IST

Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde called on Governor Mohammed Fazal on Monday amidst indications of mounting pressure on his government to handover the investigations into the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

No sooner than Fazal arrived from a visit to the national capital, Shinde rushed to the Raj Bhavan and was closeted with the governor for nearly half-an-hour, official sources said.

Shinde declined to divulge details of the meeting saying it "is an administrative matter."

Fazal, during his Delhi tour, had met Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani and discussed the fake stamp-paper scam.
