Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf on Friday admitted buying short-range missiles and technology from North Korea.

But he claimed that he had not given the communist country nuclear technology in return.

"The transfer of missile technology between the two countries is over, and Pakistan now makes those missiles on its own," Musharraf said in a news conference in Seoul.

"So today, there is absolutely no interaction with North Korea whatsoever on any defence related matters," he added.

Musharraf reassured that there has been 'no transfer of, and no proliferation of' nuclear technology to North Korea.

Pakistan has been accused of supplying nuclear secrets, including uranium-enrichment technology, to North Korea in return for missile technology from North Korea.

North Korea is under increasing international pressure from the United States and its allies to abandon its nuclear weapons programme.
