Noted Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi on Friday moved the Punjab and Haryana high court seeking anticipatory bail in the human trafficking case, his counsel said.

A Patiala court on Tuesday rejected the bail application of singer. Mehndi is facing charges in a case of alleged human trafficking.

On Monday the Delhi high court had dismissed the anticipatory bail application of the Punjabi pop singer Daler.

In an exclusive chat with rediff.com Director General of Punjab Police A A Siddiqui had denied any let up in the probe against the singer and brother Shamsher Singh.

"Just because some officers have been transferred does not mean that we are not continuing investigations against Daler Mehndi or there is any slackening in the case. We are not giving him a breather and we would force him to surrender," Siddiqui had said.
