A pilot and a trainee pilot were killed when a helicopter of the Indian Air Force crashed near Hyderabad on Thursday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Squadron Leader Gokul and trainee pilot Srivastav. 

According to official sources, the incident occurred at Antayapally near Shamirpet, about 30km from Hyderabad, when the helicopter was on a training sortie. The crash was attributed to a technical snag.

The helicopter was from the Hakimpet Air Force Station.
