Army captain, 5 militants killed in J&K

An army captain lost his life on Wednesday night when security forces clashed with militants in the upper reaches of Shopian in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Five of the militants were gunned down in the ensuing encounter, which took place when troops acting on specific information searched the upper reaches of Shopian late on Wednesday evening and came under heavy fire from militants hiding in the area, police sources said in Srinagar.
