PM undergoes eye surgery

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Sunday morning underwent a minor eye surgery under local anaesthesia at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi.

A team of doctors headed by Professor Madan Mohan performed the surgery.

The surgery was a success, a PMO spokesman said adding Vajpayee had returned to his Race Course Road residence.

The PM has been advised rest for the next few days, the spokesman added.
