Magadh Express rail accident due to sabotage: Report

The provisional findings into the derailment of 2391 Magadh Express on June 1, 2003, has revealed that the accident occurred due to 'sabotage'.

Commissioner of Railway Safety, Eastern Circle, Mahesh Chand said this in his provisional findings following a statutory inquiry into the derailment.

The accident, which occurred at 0325 hours on June 1, 2003 between Baruna and Busar stations on the Patna-Mughalsarai electrified double line section of Danapur Division of East Central Railway left one dead and 25 injured.

The Preliminary Report of the Commissioner is under the consideration of the government, the release said.
