If there is one question everyone wanted Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (Democrat, New York) to answer, it was: how could she continue to stay married to Bill Clinton?

Clinton answers it in her memoir, Living History, which released June 9 (see Why I stuck with Bill: Hillary).

The book sold 200,000 copies on the day of its release. Looking at the brisk sales, publisher Simon & Schuster ordered 300,000 more copies to be printed on top of the one million copies which were printed for the launch.

There are those who see the book, and the massive ensuing publicity, as her attempt to establish herself in the Democratic Party as a serious presidential candidate.
