Delhi has a new Congress chief

Shahid K Abbas in New Delhi | June 11, 2003 20:30 IST

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday appointed former Delhi assembly speaker Chaudhary Prem Singh the leader of party's state unit.

His appointment will take effect from June 18. He replaces Subhash Chopra.

Assembly polls in the state are due in November later this year.
